Mumbles Community Council is looking for a new councillor following the resignation of one of its members
Notices have been put up in the area advertising the vacancy in the West Cross Ward. There will be an election if 10 constituents request one in writing by 26 November 2015. Electors should write to the returning officer at Swansea Council.
If none is requested, the community council will seek to coopt a new councillor. There are currently 17 of them serving the Newton, Oystermouth, Mayals and West Cross wards.
The council aims to support local organisations and improve amenities and the look of the village, among other roles. Its work is funded by the precept — a relatively small amount paid by council tax payers.
To find out more about the role, phone council clerk Steve Heydon on 01792 363598.
