Essence of Mumbles: A Photographic Exploration

Essence of Mumbles is a community project to celebrate the vibrant life in Mumbles through the lens of your camera or smartphone, regardless of age or skill level.         
We are seeking submissions that go beyond the conventional postcard-perfect landscapes, focusing instead on the raw and authentic stories woven into the fabric of our community.     

From candid portraits to bustling street scenes, show us the diverse and complex facets of this charming area.

All ages and abilities are welcome to enter with lots of prizes to be won.

Terms and Conditions

1. This community-driven photography competition is organised by the Mumbles Community Council (MCC) in partnership with All About the Image, Colliers Photo Imaging, and Theo’s Coffee Shop.

Key dates

• Submissions open between 11th September 2024 - 11th October 2024
• Public exhibition at Theo’s Coffee Shop, Mumbles - 26th October 2024 – 10th November 2024
• Announcement of winners, runups for each category – 11th November 2024
• A selection of photos will be displayed via our website: mumbles.gov.uk after the public announcement.

How to enter

1. All entries must be submitted to events@mumbles.gov.uk
2. Please indicate the name of the entrant and the category to enter.
3. The photography competition is free to enter.

Eligibility

1. The photography competition is open to anyone, except employees of the MCC, their families, or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw.
2. No more than 5 entries per person are permitted, and each entry may only be submitted to one category.
3. Entries must be taken in Mumbles area (i.e. Mayals, Newton, Oystermouth, and West Cross).
