Volunteering day at Norton Nature Reserve

Weekly volunteering sessions to help build the new Norton Nature Reserve and Community Garden.

Tasks vary and include planting, vegetation maintenance, digging paths and filling wildlife feeders.

Some tools are provided, but where possible it is always helpful if volunteers also bring their own. Training and supervision is provided throughout each session by the Council's Environmental Engagement Officer.

The work on this site is on-going, with plans to build raised allotment beds on site for local community groups in the February. We also plan to continue work on the pond, heritage wall excavation and establish paths around the site by April.

Please wear a face mask, unless you have an exemption, to make the event more accessible.

Sturdy boots or wellies advised. Alongside clothes you don't mind getting somewhat muddy. Please wrap up warm.
