THE GUNS OF MUMBLES HEAD

OYSTERMOUTH HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION A Mumbles History Society The next Meeting at Ostreme Centre, Newton Road, Mumbles is at 7.40 pm on Thursday 16th April THE 1915 GALLIPOLI CAMPAIGN Including the local connections An illustrated talk by John White and at 7.40 pm on Thursday 21st May at Ostreme Centre, Newton Road, Mumbles THE GUNS OF MUMBLES HEAD An illustrated talk by John Powell and Kate Elliott Jones Mumbles Hill, The Lighthouse  Island & The Tutt, proved ideal locations for the siting of Coastal Gun Defences of Swansea during World War Two Photo attached- There were two of these 6 inch Coastal Defence Guns on Mumbles Hill in World War Two. They were Breech Loading – Mark II models, previously used in WW1, taken from storage and installed on the Hill.
