It is reported that Police were out on the streets of West Cross, Thursday 12th March to crack down on parking issues at school time.

Do drive and park safely near schools.

Mumbles has been named in a list of the five best places to live in Wales.

The accolade, it is reported, comes from The Sunday Times, best of places to live guide, towns and suburbs, which is published on Sunday.

Also on the list are Whitchurch, Monmouth, Hay-on-Wye and Cowbridge.

Evening Post Reporter, Richard Youle has reported on the “It’s a knockout” event which is being arranged by the Mumbles Community Council during July 2015.

They will be looking for about 12 teams, including schools to take part in the traditional sports day type activities and fun events.

It has yet to be decided on the venue for this event. Either the Castle grounds or Underhill park (where a previous event took place). Advice is being sought from the Company who are arranging the activity. It is suggested that an area the size of a football pitch is needed to hold this event.

More details from Mumbles Community Council later when all is arranged.

Three trees have been attacked over the past few weeks after similar events during 2012 and 2013. The latest trees are two hawthorns and one field maple. They have now been removed by Swansea City Council for safety reasons.

If you have any information regarding these incidents you should call the police on 101 or the Parks watch number 0800 0787357
