Fire crews from Sketty and Swansea Central were called out to Plunch Lane, Mumbles on Thursday night to deal with an electrical fire involving a toy which was being recharged. It resulted in a small fire and there were no injuries reported. The Fire service stood down at 12.20 am
Take care and keep an eye on any items being recharged.
The Evening Post Reporter, Nino Williams tells us that a landmark store in Mumbles, which has been trading for almost 50 years has had enquiries from three large supermarket chains to take over the site.
The owner of Treasure, which is the subject of the story, Mr Allan Lloyd, says that the family intends to continue in business despite the expressions of interest fromTesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose supermarkets.

The local residents of Mayals are reported to be pleased with the new pathway to the promenade and seafront from Mumbles road.
The report in the Evening Post, Friday 20th Feb tells us that Councillor Linda Tyler-Lloyd cut the ribbon at the opening stating “I am pleased that the path has been completed so quickly. A number of people have slipped and fallen while trying to walk down the grass bank.”
