Mumbles Community Council is organising a ‘School’s Community Council’, where pupils from six of the local primary schools will have their chance to say how they would like to improve the community.
Each school will send two representatives from their own School Council to the event which takes place at Mayals Primary School this Friday (30 January 2015).
Each school council will submit two ideas – one for an event and one to improve the facilities for the community in Mumbles. During the event their representatives will the ideas and discuss them, with the minimum input from adults.
At the Schools Community Council the representatives will choose three or more ideas which they will then present to a special meeting of Mumbles Community Council.
Council Chairman, Cllr Helen Mitchell, said: “We hope to inspire children to take a greater interest in their community and we are really looking-forward to seeing what ideas they come up with”.
The Mumbles Community Council has agreed to give a grant of £500 to the Mumbles and Gower Stroke club.
The Building Inspector will look into the matter of the refusal by Swansea City to the application to build a front dormer extension to the property at 105 West Cross Lane.
The Inspector will consider written evidence and carry out a ful inspection, before arriving at a decision.
The Annual General Meeting of the Trust will be held in the Victoria Hall, Mumbles on the 28th at 7.00pm
An invitation to the person behind the Oyster Wharf development, James Morse will give a talk about the new commercail units on the Mumbles foreshore
The problems of speeding and parking in the West Cross area of Mumbles have been brought to the attention of the police.
Patrols of police have been in place, during December in the hotspots of West Cross Lane, Chestnut Ave and Fairwood Road.
