On the 27th April 14 a 5ft 4in painting by artist Malcolm Philips will be unveiled in All Saints church, Oystermouth, Swansea
This painting depicts the fire which raged through the Church de la Campagna in Chile on a feast day on 17th December 1863. The blaze was sparked by the lighting of ceremonial lamps, filled with liquid gas. More than 2,500 people died in this tragedy.
Links between All saints and the Church de la Campagna go back to the time when the bells of Santiago were returned to Chile from All Saints church in 2010.
The Chillean authorities have founded a memorial for those who died in that fire. The vicar of All Saints, the Reverend Keith Evans wrote a book last year about the accident.
