An article in the Swansea Leader , March 2014 advises Householders who may be considering laying a new driveway on their property are being urged to check if they need planning permission before they start work.

New rules mean planning permission is now needed for all hard surfaces outside your house if it’s on your property between the front of the house and the highway, but isn’t made of porous or permeable material. The rules also apply to repairs to hard surfaces.
