In the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University we welcome the involvement of local people in our health programmes. It is important that our students who are training to be health professionals have input from people with a range of health conditions as part of their education.
We have an active service user and carer involvement health group, and would like to invite you to become part of it if you are interested. We involve people in interviewing students, classroom teaching, making teaching resources and evaluating programmes.
If you are interested in finding out more, we are having a recruitment event on Friday 25th October at 10am. This is an opportunity to find out more about involvement opportunities, and to explore the potential benefits for you and for us.
We have a website you may be interested to look at – http://www.swansea.ac.uk/humanandhealthsciences/about-us/service-user-and-carer-involvement/
We will be talking about how you can get involved, the types of activities, payment and expenses, and there will be the opportunity to talk with some of our current members who will be sharing their experiences. There will be plenty of tea, coffee and light refreshments. The event will be held from 10am-12noon at Swansea University, in the Vivian Tower, rm 120, on the first floor.
If you would like to attend, please contact Alison Miles – by email – A.J.Miles@swansea.ac.uk or telephone – 01792 518548.
