The headlines of the Evening Post 30th July 13 leaves
anybody with a terrible impression of Swansea City.
It tells us that the cost of cleaning up other peoples rubbish and dog mess equals £2.7 million a year. Of that total a half a million pounds is spent on clearing the City centre alone.
As a result, it is stated that the council is to enlist (employ I think it means) an enforcement company which will be responsible for issuing £75 fixed penalty notices to anyone who litters or doesn’t cleanup after their dog.
Additional litter teams will provide patrols of the city’s parks, beaches and car parks to ensure they are kept up to scratch.
If you know of any area in Mumbles that has a problem with litter please contact the Community Council at 01792 363598 who employ a special clean-up team to deal with such problems.
